APevents inside Preston Bailey’s wedding extravaganza

After a world-wind of events this past Wednesday and Thursday we have finally recovered. Preston Bailey, planner to the stars married Theo Bleckmann on the 21st floor of the Empire State Building at Midnight Valentine’s Eve and we were part of the festivities! What’s more glamourous than saying your “I do’s” than under a Chuppa made of 10,000 white flowers and cascading orchids? Maybe being officiated by…”JOAN RIVERS”?!

Yes, Joan; Preston’s beloved friend. Joan Rivers was surprisingly, less funny than we expected. Her speech was actually very sentimental. above photograph by {the insider}

The theme of the wedding was cleverly “King Kong.” We all know how much Preston loves his floral sculptures. Well, Preston managed to put the Kong in the building.

Familiar faces walked the ceremony runway as APevents got to mingle and guide them to their seats. Guests included Martha Stewart, NeNe Leakes and Designer Reem Acra. As guests arrived a gorgeous White Orchid cake, by Sylvia Weinstock, left them in awe when entering the ceremony room. Our favorite part of Preston’s wedding was his photo tunnel directing guests to the reception room. A purple lit tunnel adorned by purple hydrangea, dangling crystals and large round photographs of each guest in attendance. It sure was an exciting way for guests to feel involved in the wedding.

The evening was full of musical surprises a must-have for husband Theo Bleckmann, a Grammy nominated singer. Theo made all of the musical arrangements including the couples dear friend, Valerie Romanoff, from the Starlight Orchestra, providing the dramatic ceremony music. Then, in the lounge guests partied till 5 a.m. dancing, sipping champagne and munching on fun-foods like PB&J and Bacon & Eggs.

Much Love…
